Do I have Depression?

If you answer ‘yes’ to several of the following questions, you may be suffering from a depressive disorder:

Do you experience persistent feelings of sadness?

Have you lost interest in daily activities?

Do you experience crying spells?

Has your appetite changed?

Have you been experiencing fatigue, tiredness, and/or loss of energy?

Have you been experiencing agitation or restlessness?

Have you been feeling indecisive, distracted, or less focused?

Are you constantly irritable or frustrated?

Have you been struggling with insomnia, excessive sleeping, or nightmares?

Do I need professional help?

Depression ranges in seriousness from mild, temporary episodes of feeling sad, down, or blue, to severe where you have thoughts of suicide. Signs and symptoms vary from person to person. While it is common to feel sad or in despair from time to time, you need professional help if:

These symptoms interfere with your ability to go about your daily activities

These symptoms negatively affect your relationships

You have unsuccessfully tried to "snap out of it" or "get over it."

Can depression be treated?

Psychotherapy is an effective treatment for depression. Psychotherapy can help improve your mood and regain a sense of peace and control in your life.

Why Therapy?

Therapy can give you the necessary tools to develop coping strategies for dealing with the negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are typical when suffering from depression.

Treatment Approach

In our sessions, we will work together to help you better understand the causes of your depression, learn how to identify unhealthy thoughts and/or behaviors, and develop strategies to help you manage and decrease depressive symptoms.
